Damn right I was.. somehow I am reminded by the Hadeith where the prophet Peace be Upon Him states that الحجر الأسود كان أبيضاً فسودته ذنوب الخلق.
Yes I was growing to be the next وائل كفوري but due to my countless sins I have ended up being like هشام عباس.
I do remember that this was one of my first trips to the zoo, I no longer remember which animal I enjoyed watching or what made my day back then, those details are forever gone, but the feeling attached to the memory.. now that lasts forever, cause the minute I looked at it I remembered that I was happiest being that day..
and now, I doubt that a monkey can make my day.. so..

You’re still beautiful, but like the hajr al aswad you need some polishing and cleaning to do … that book i sent on purification, i had originally sent my own since the distributors stopped publishing it … it seems that my book didn’t want to be away from me, so it went to all the way to Qatar and came back to me! Anyway I re-sent the package, but a photocopy, I hope that it does get to you – when you get it do notify me so that I can say ‘Alhamdulilah!’ Use it, so that the dazzling diamond within you shines through with nothing blocking its extraordinary light.

I heard this joke today and I thought of sharing …. A man told God that he hates life. God replied, “who asked you to love life, just love me and life will be beautiful!” —- Look for happiness in the place that is truly beautiful (that is God), work for the immortal and eternal life, and you’ll get everything truly beautiful in this life and the next. Plus, if you get the chance read Al-Ghazali’s works on “Disciplining the soul and breaking the two desires (kitab Riyadat al-nafs, kitab kasr al-shahwatayn)” and also “The remembrance of death and the after life (kitab dhikr al mawt wa ma ba dahu)” – both being from “Ihya’ ‘Ulum al-Din” – they should help you greatly.
